As somebody who has had food poisoning before, I understand that line completely. Food poisoning often takes over a day to take effect; last time for me was about 30 hours after eating the spoiled turkey.
What will this ride be like, you may ask? I'm going to put that in white font below, as there may be people eating at their desks when reading.
Your system will try and expell anything in your digestive tract as rapidly as possible. This means from both ends, at the same time, as rapidly as your body can push it. Unlike being sick with the flu where there is some voluntary control, with food poisoning there is none whatsoever. To prepare have the toilet in the "sitting down position" ready to go. Have an ice cream pail nearby so that as you sit an expel down, the stuff coming up has somewhere to go.
Also have lots of water handy, as this type of being sick will make you very dehydrated.
Odds are it's nothing. But it's better to spend 5 minutes preparing just in case.
