Is it Folliculitis or Carbuncles? Both are commonly transmitted to people from tainted hot tubs/jacuzzis. You are quite lucky if you only have one break out site. It is very likely that you will experience permanent scarring from the infection site.
It is important that it be drained out- did your doctor mention this?
The antibiotics should kick in fairly quickly and you should be symptom free in less than a month.
