What's weird is that when I drive to Medicine Hat, people tend to obey the rules of the road and stick to the right. It really is just going to and from Edmonton that people drive like jerkwads. Not sure why that is.

I also find that on the Edmonton drive things get a few degrees stupider as you get closer to each city. Leduc going North and Airdrie going South are where the highway norms seem to be tossed out of the window. I understand that there's naturally more volume and much of that is comprised of bedroom community leeches (I kid) using it for a few kilometres, but the number of left lane strugglers and erratic/aggressive/daydreaming drivers is noticeably higher as you approach each city. You can have the most stress-free jaunt up to Edmonton but as soon as you hit Leduc/Nisku everything goes to crap.
