I really agree with the above.
While you can't indict a religion based on silence, that changes when you have a general lack of condemnation of really violent acts.
The Muslim communities really fails in reaching out to the community, they're fairly silent when the extremists act, so the interpretation is that they either don't have a problem with it, or they're intimidated by the radical elements of their religion.
Islam really needs their own version of Martin Luther who forces a reformation of Islam through sheer force of will.
