The fanatical devotion some Americans have to their constitution actually kind of bugs me. The founding fathers were just people. They were not infallible. Neither is the constitution. It's just a law that governs other laws. So the constitution says you have the right to bear arms. So what?! If it doesn't make sense anymore, if it's giving you a murder rate much higher than similar countries, change it. Just because something's in the constitution doesn't make it right.

(FWIW, I don't think the Canadian constitution is perfect either. Far from it.)
