Some of the best stories in this league have been written by teams who "shouldn't have been there." Your Stamps in 2001 for one, and the 1981 Ottawa Rough Riders for another, who were within 3 pts of knocking off the Esks in the GC that year in a monumental upset after winning something like 5 games in the regular season.

The 2001 Stamps were 2nd place 2 points behind the 1st place Eskimos hosted a play-off game and only really behind the Ti-Cats and Bombers in terms of ability.
This years Esks will be 3rd place, host no play-off game will be at best 8 points behind first place and could be as much as 12 points out. There are at least 4 teams that are much better, if not 5.
The difference between these two teams is pretty big and while I do agree the anything can happen can provide good story lines it usually helps if those teams have a little bit of talent and it is due to a complete fluke that they win.
Luckily I don't think we will have to worry about that as the Esks would be hard pressed to beat the Riders in the play-offs and unless the Stamps lose all their players and half their back-ups they have about 0 chance of beating them in the WF.
