One easy solution I can see for the Canyon Meadows LRT is if the people who park for free on the street stop leaving 3 meters between them and the car in front of them when they park in the morning. You could probably fit at least another 10 to 15 cars along this stretch if everyone parked like normal human beings. Everyday I have to drive past this mess and sometimes I get lucky enough that I actually can parallel park my way into a spot (which I love because the people around me then have to Austin Powers there way out at the end of the day). But I digress...
I agree with having a proper system in place that ensures everyone who uses the transit system pays the fare. The hope being that between revenue generated from everyone paying the fare + the money saved from likely having to have less transit officials checking tickets > the amount of money generated from Park and Ride.
