Ortio played for TPS again tonight. This time they lost only 4-2, 27 saves and an assist for Joni. I don't know how he looked, but it's noteworthy that he got the start against the second-place Ässät.
Their coach talked about lack of hard work, sloppy defense and bad penalties.
We'll see where they and Ortio stand in the second half of the season. It's a funny situation because they're so far out of competition for a playoff spot that they're not necessarily in a hurry to get another veteran goaltender, at least not as much as they would be if they still had hope. Still, it could happen.
Another thing is that if they continue like this, TPS will have to play for their spot in the league next spring against the best team of the second tier league (which I guess could still be KooKoo for whom Ortio started once this season, even though their season hasn't been as good as they expected).
