I don't think I've ever seen such a good football team that was so bad at special teams. Most teams, this kinda stuff would kill their record but the Stamps D and O has been so dominant they've gotten away with it.
Talley was ok but doesn't hit the holes hard. But blocked punts...ouch. And Maver? This guy reminds me of Curtis McElhinney. He is dominant in practice - when he warms up at halftime hes hitting 40+ field goals with ease. Then when they count, his leg strength disappears.
What's concerning is that special teams WILL matter in the playoffs, where the games will be close and field position at a premium.
Maver is going to have to make a tough kick or two this season yet, that could determine a football game's outcome. That's a scary thought. Hopefully he saves his best for last.
