I don't think anyone needed to feel sorry for Genesis owners. It was a solid machine. It wasn't until the Sega CD and the 32X came along that Sega started to really drop the ball.
Now people who owned a Phillips CDI or Atari Jaguar, that's another story. But then again, those machines were so expensive, it was pretty hard to feel sorry for the rich kids who actually suckered their parents into purchasing those two pieces of crap.
