KINGS CLEAN UP OIL SPILL

Edmonton, Alberta – The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Edmonton Oilers last night 5-3. The Kings showed their resiliency by coming back twice from one goal deficits. New comer Marian Gaborik scored his first of many goals in a Kings uniform. "It was good to get that first goal after coming back from an injury, I am hoping I can add more to the club in future games." Gaborik stated.
Goalie Dan Cloutier continued his strong performance with another victory tonight against a very impressive Oilers offensive squad. He is in contention for goalie of the week and has only strengthened his chances with another solid victory. "I am not really concerned with the awards" said Cloutier, "As long as I have the W at the end of the night I am happy."
The hot start for the Kings sees them at the top of their respective conference. "It is nice that we have been able to get off to a fast start to the season. The season is early though, there are many, many games left to be played. Our main goal is just to make the playoffs, whether we are seeded number one or number eight." said Sra when asked about his team’s hot start.
Game notes: Rookie Dion Phaneuf registered another strong performance with a goal. He has a dubious track record in fights to this point in the season notably the "Grigorenko Incident". There were no fights to report tonight, but there was a bit of pushing and shoving between Phaneuf and referee Kerry Fraser. This is one to watch for later in the season.
