You can get a PSA (prostate specific antigen) test. IIRC, this is not as sensitive in detecting cancer as PSA rises with both benign and cancerous prostates.

A digital rectal exam (nothing digital about it; it's a finger) is quite quick but I'm not sure about the efficacy of the screen.

I think PSA is a standard test once you reach a certain age for screening and it is important to establish a baseline and monitor it over the years.
