yeah i get that this isnt likely to be the final standings, but they must base it on something to begin with, and thats what i am trying to get my head around.

Texas beating Nebraska and Florida State whooping Miami helps Oklahoma alot. Right now it's still kinda weird. It'll make alot more sense once the big team play out their conference schedules.

Texas beating Nebraska should only point to how weak Nebraska is though...at least logically. Texas suffered the worst loss of any team in the polls thus far this year when they lost at home to UCLA...big. Instead, it appears that because OK beat Texas and Texas beat Neb., they/it are giving more weight than anyone really should.
Certainly Fla. St. beating Miami the way they did was impressive, but how impressive was Miami to begin with? I mean they are in 3rd place in the Coast division in a really really weak ACC conference.
I know we could go on forever with this stuff...and thats not what I am after, moreso just trying to get a grasp on what causes an OK team and their body of work to be where they are in relation to other teams.
Another one is seeing OSU ahead of Wisconsin, particularly when comparing schedules thus far and their game on Saturday...OSU got housed.
