One other thing I like about Nenshi is that he isn't playing the typical, cynical load-up-the-buses from the mosques and temples mentality that once dominated North East Calgary ethnic politics. You take him on individual merit, or you don't. I think Calgary's grown to the point that this sort of stuff doesn't matter. The city is sophisticated, entrenched and dispersed enough now not to vote in homogeneous ethnic blocks.
