Fine I'll explain it to you. The Flames just lost one game to the Oilers. If the NHL had polls and rankings would the Oilers jump over the Flames based on that one game after the Flames have beaten the Oilers 10 times in a row?
Does the #19 ranked tennis player beat Nadal and then jump him in the rankings? Tiger Woods didn't win a tournament all year and is still ranked #1 because of his past body or work.
South Carolina has one loss and Alabama has one loss. Alabama started the year higher in the polls so of course they would remain higher in the polls. This isn't a head-to-head tiebreaker.
Yes I think an undefeated LSU team could still be ranked lower than Alabama but it'll be close. Wouldn't surprise me either way. Maybe 6 and 7.
Again if you think that this is an absolutely stupid way to decide a championship then that's another story but this is how rankings work, it's a ladder.
