Blame the ref? I said that Stanford likely would have won the game without the call. My issue is I hate when refs make at best a borderline call like that late in the game thinking that they are big men for doing it.
It wasn't clear that the play was over or that the whistle had gone, the player didn't do anything over the line and was barely late, if late at all.

Harbaugh isn't bad, he just isn't great and certainly not close to the level that the media seem to love to portray him as.
Hard to tell with Kiffin as he hasn't coached that much to get a good sense of what he will be. He certainly gets a much worse rep than he deserves and actually did a decent job in Oakland with the crap team he had there.
This year and next are going to be a tough with players already admitting that they don't care (and really why should they) and the sanctions, but I don't see any indication that Kiffin will do damage to the program considering the two classes he has brought in during his two years recruiting as a HC.
