I unblocked my 3GS at a retailer and noticed afterwards that when and only when I turn the phone on a electronic-type, blueish-green horizontal line appears a quater of the size of the screen. I talked to the company that did and it they told me that it happens commonly when you unlock iPhones. He said all they did was install Cydia, unblock it and reload my iTunes on it.
