thats basically what Jaime Redknapp said as well
Yeah, but Harry cant possibly be so thick as to think this is all on the players. Or, his reputation as a 'Wheeler Dealer' is in serious jeopardy with comments such as:

Quote:
"All they seem to have done is plough a fortune into the place and they stand to lose a fortune when they sell it. But, for all that, all they get is grief week-in, week-out.
Because if he thinks that, then hes an idiot who knows nothing about finances. H&G barely spent a dime on Liverpool. Thats the problem, they put up little to none of their own money. They borrowed almost every cent, and then used the club's operating income to pay the interest on the borrowed money.

So in essence, they didnt 'plough a fortune' into the place. Furthermore, while its true that they signed the cheques for Torres and Kuyt, the actual money came either from loans, the debt, previously sold players (ha! yeah right) or the club's own operating capital.

Again, didnt cost the yank basterds a dime, contrary to what 'Arry thinks and says.

While it is true that those players are underperfoming, and it is again true that the players have to take some responsibility for that, 'Arry once again goes off half cocked as to why. Perhaps motivation and uncertainty have something to do with a lack of performance? A lot of these guys were promised additional investment in quality talent to round out the team, and yet H&G are scratching and clawing trying to hold on to this club that they effectively didnt even pay for. Not to mention, quality players are being sold to save the team on wage bills, and then transfer income is being used to make interest payments rather than invest in on-field talent, thus making every other player's job more difficult and depleting the overall quality of the team.

Why should the players give it their all when promises were made and broken and likely to broken some more. Not to mention, the club is in turmoil, the players have to think not only about the club, but themselves, their careers, their futures and their families, all of these things will be affected by the maelstrom of confusion surrounding the club. And then are forced to see quality players shipped off for debt servicing payments on top of it all and are then told to go out and achieve at the same level they had previously with a vastly depleted squad.

H&G are there for unearned money. 80s style corporate raiding at its finest and if 'Arry cant see that, then Spurs fans had better beware that hes writing cheques he cant actually cash.

Harry should have kept his mouth shut, regardles of what Jamie says. Jamie can put his big boy underpants on all by himself now, and so he has to stand behind his comments without ol' 'Arry always coming to his rescue.
