There had been speculation that he incorrectly named Episode 4-6 and that he should have named them Episode 7--9, as episodes 1-3 were to be the rise of Anakin, episodes 4-6 were to be the fall of Anakin and the path destruction brought on by Vader, and 7-9 were to be the fall of Vader and redemption of Anakin. Some stuff that gives some value to this theory is Lucas original interview where he mentioned three trilogies, and the fast paced fall of Anakin in episode 3. Episode 3 could have almost been a trilogy in itself.

That was the original concept, and to be honest I would have liked to have seen more pacing in the fall of Anakin.
If you read the Dark Lord Series, Labryth, Revenge of the Sith, Dark Lord. The fall was handled really well. There was outstanding dialogue between Palpatine and Vader. The Obi-Wan Anakin light sabre dialogue really sunk in how dark young Vader had become.
I also enjoyed the series because of the dialogue that Anakin Skywalker had with the Seperatists as he was slaughtering them.

Shu Mai, president and CEO of the Commerce Guild, looked up from her knees, hands clasped before her, tears streaming down her shrivelled cheeks. "We were promised a reward," she gasped. "A h--h--handsome reward--"
"I am your reward," the Sith Lord said. "You don't find me handsome?"
