Keep in mind, he really didn't start doing anything shady until he was on the downside of his career in Oakland....chemically speaking of course.
He was insanely into supplements and other experimental treatments, but none of them were under scrutiny by the NFL>....which is far and away the toughest league on substances.
I enjoyed watching Romo play, especially while he was in Denver, but he did cross that line of playing vs hurting too often. Still, guys like Dick Butkus and Jack Tatum are in the HOF for playing that way. They're referred to as throwbacks while Romo will be forever labelled dirty.
He was a great player, but yeah.....a little insane.
