Unlike a lot of Oiler fans, I'm no dillusional fool when it comes to my team. If they go into Indy and beat the Colts, I'll strip down naked and run around the block a couple of times. I don't think Peyton Manning is going to let the Colts overlook the Chiefs.
But I must admit a lot of Colt fans tick me off with their current arrogance. It wasn't that long ago they were finishing 1-15 and drafting Jeff George while the Irsay's were still considered bumbling fools who deserted a great football market in Baltimore for Indianapolis for a few dollars.
So when you and your other Colt fan buddies laugh at the Chiefs....I actually look at the Colts and how they hired Bill Polian as their GM, and how he managed to get that team turned around. Pioli certainly doesn't have the track record Polian does having built the Bills teams that went to 4 straight Superbowls, and the expansion Panthers who got to the NFC Championship in their second year. But he did learn under Belichick and Parcells who have both been pretty successful. I'll be quite pleased if Pioli can emulate the success Polian has had.
Than again 3 of the Chiefs last 4 playoff losses have been at the hands of the Colts, so that may explain why I sort of hate them. Even though I can admit they have a top flight operation that's going to continue to be successful so long as #18 is getting the ball on offence. Although if thats how this years season ends for KC, I'll be quite happy.
