This has actually been driving me crazy!. This is Wendy's brilliant attempt to drive revenue.
It use to be:
Step 1, give me a combo 4 with coke.
Step 2: pay 7.34
enjoy
Now it's:
Step 1: I'll have a combo 4
Step 2: Do you want that Medium or Large? (note the lack of offering small)
Step 3 (before I learn the scam) Medium
Step 4: Single, Double or Triple? Uh, just regular please
Step 5: Extra charge for the Medium upsell
Step 6: Pay new higher charge, get a bunch of extra fries and drink you didn't want
Now I have no problem with the upsell, but don't trick me into it. Medium is what has always come with combo, so when I ask for medium ( I want the regular). Tell me small is the new medium ahead of time. Of course I caught on and now it's back to normal, with a bunch more questions to answer...
