Thumbs down 'Rider Loonies

I got a loonie coin yesterday which commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. As a good Stampeder fan, I dealt with it accordingly:

It is offensive to me to put a professional sports team logo on Canadian currency, and I plan to take a file to every 'Rider and 'Habs loonie I get my hand on.

What's next? The Golden Arches to celebrate the 75th anniversary of McDonald's first Canadian restaurant? While I hope to live to the year 2080, I would not want to see a Flames logo on regularly circulated currency. A national symbol should not be used to celebrate a regional event. I don't even think the Canadian mint should have put out that $14.95 quarter with the Flames logo that they sold out of the post office a couple of years ago.

Discuss.

P.S.: Yes, I am aware that it is against the law to deface Canadian currency. I am a bit of an outlaw, and the chicks love a badboy like me. You might even earn yourself a 'Rider loonie by calling me into Crime Stoppers!
