God, I'll never live down my experience. I had the sedation done, and either they gave me too much of it or I am a drug wuss. I had a horrible trip, and would definitely rough it without sedation if I did it again, no matter what the dentists said. In fact I wanted to, but I couldn't find anyone that would take me without going under, and finally Arbour Lake agreed to do it with sedation. All 4 were impacted, and basically they made hamburger out of my gums. But it was more my fault for putting it off for 13 years, and letting the problem get worse, and putting it off was no longer an option as one was severely infected and making me sick. I don't remember a thing from about 2 minutes after I took the pill until the next morning.
The nurse that had me in the pre-op room was super mega uber hot. I was having impure thoughts about her even before I took the pill. Anyway, apparently I kept hitting on her, and said some pretty awful things. They ended up having to tie me down because I was doing the same thing while they were working on me....for three and a half hours. After they were done with me my girlfriend came to pick me up, and when they released me to her, I walked back into the back and was looking for the nurse again. My girlfriend is 5'0 tall maybe 100 lbs if shes lucky, and I am about 6'1 225, so she couldn't control me. They had to restrain me again, and she had to call my dad to drive to the other side of the city and come get me. I am 33 at the time, and my dad was 67, and he literally had to manhandle me to the car using police restraining holds. I get to my parents house, and I had to take a wiz I guess, and proceeded to walk unknowingly to the basement stairs, and tumble down them. And my dad says the funniest thing he ever saw was when I was sitting on the couch, I went to reach for the remote on the coffee table and face planted in a seated position Mr. Bean style on the floor. I give credit to the old man though, he stayed up all night watching me on the couch. I woke up the next day, and felt like I was in a bar fight. I had a huge knot on my forehead, and I was bruised and battered from my stair tumble, my jaw was basically locked shut..... and I don't remember one minute of it, the entire incident was relayed to me third party.
My face, healed up in about three weeks, since they had to carve me up so bad. 3 years later I still have the odd bone splinter work its way to the surface. I did make a point on my follow up visit of profusely apologizing to the nurse, but she just shrugged it off, like it had happened before, and said don't worry about it. I did also have some major sucking up to do with the girlfriend, but she kinda understood.
I guess the lesson learned is... don't put it off for over a decade, and don't get the sedation.
