Engineering an Empire - though there are many, including Rome, check out China for their technological advances. Truly amazing stuff. Especially their stone and bridgework and ships. Since most of that was at the time of the Roman Empire through to the Enlightenment.

Perhaps you need to study more. There is a great book out that tells a story about a guy who rose from the dead and his dad creating the universe in six days and dont get me started on all of the contradictions.
It is fiction but it is a real page turner. Word of caution though if you dont believe it is real you are doomed to internal punishment. They also have a book club that gathers every Sunday. But be careful this group keeps attendance.
