^^^Well that's why the ranking system is silly. It should be about right now, the current squad. Figo, Simao, Deco, Pauleta were all huge parts of Portugal's runs in 04 and 06. All have retired internationally.
If the rankings were about the current squads at this point, Portugal would be hard pressed to crack the top 20.
