I've baked my current pair of skates twice now and there is nothing wrong with them. I've heard some skates are better for baking that others but again, that's just what I've heard.
the nice part about baking a skate is it skips the whole breaking in process and with the stiffness of the skates these days I think it's totally worth it.
FYI Hockey experts will bake any skate for free whether you bought it there or not.
