Yes. I would say a church could only justify an action such as a book burning under those same circumstances. But, I'm not the Pastor or a member of this little church. They obviously see the passage differently.

What I'm suggesting is that regardless of their past practice they could use that verse and the typical blanket statement within their constitution concerning fidelity to scriptures to argue the justification for their action.
