My Dad was awesome. He taught me how to play hockey, how to fish, how to live in the wild on my own, how to play soccer, how to be a man, how to work my arse off, how to throw a curveball, how to be a father, how to be a husband.
I was never scared of him. We never went through a period when we wouldn't speak to each other. He never beat me unreasonably. We never had a fist fight.
I turned out alright.
I'm glad your fathers worked out for you, but I wouldn't trade what I had for what you had in a million years.
