Missed opportunity today to catch up on 2nd place in IV.11 for the Smokies, as they come to a 2-2 draw with 5th place HC Wushu.

Even with the defensive tactic selected versus Wushu's offensive, Wushu managed to pot two past Rihards Purins, which is a rare feat. The Smokies were hoping to rest their starter, but a 16 day injury to backup goaltender and league save percentage leader Lubomir Habal forced Purins into action.

This tie snapped the Smokies 11 game win streak, but however are still unbeaten in their last 18 league games. Due to tight funds because of facility upgrades, the Smokies won't be able to hit the market to try and improve their roster, so they will need to stand pat or hope some of their new recruits from the sports academy can shake up the team.

Meanwhile, the Flamez continue to nip at the heels of HC Wushu with a dominating 8-1 win versus 10th place Capital, whom the Smokies play on Monday.
