I own:
Roborally - fantastic game when lots of people are playing (up to 8) this is the one we usually break out when there is a big group
Twilight Struggle - great 2 player game, lots of strategy and you get to play out the cold war
St Petersburgh - Simple 2-4 player game, pretty fun while not too complicated
Puerto Rico - I really enjoy this game, the wife absolutely hates so we don't get a chance to play it that often.
Backgammon - love this game, although it's tough to find decent opponents unless you want to play for money.

I'd like to learn Roborally. Have it, but have not played it yet.
I find with Settlers it is usually fairly obvious what you should do each turn. Hot/cold dice can ruin a well-played game. Some couples work together, and imbalance the game. Some players give out hidden information that they should not.
