Actually it is bridges. There is a second one in the works. At least with the second one they have given local designers a chance to have a crack at it.
However, they have already committed 25 million to it before even firming up the design or putting it out to tender.
The issues surrounding the bridge are many; location, is it even needed, etc. But the more important concern is that they bypassed all their own protocols that are to be followed for large projects. We were committed to this by one single staffer, before council even voted on it.
