Well, not to discount what you said as I have no idea if its true or not, but there is also a lot of evidence out there suggesting that lots of red-meat, because of what it is fed--corn, also makes the person who eats it more susceptible to bacterial infection, mainly E. Coli.
There have even been some cases in the US where people died and after finding out that E. Coli infection killed them, some people involved traced the meat back to feedlots that primarily feed corn, or a corn-based diet.
But you still have an interesting point, and despite all of this, I'll join you in eating a good steak every once in a while without worry.
