Tranmere have completed the signing of former Northern Irish under-21 striker Sam Morrow.

After weeks of speculation the deal was confirmed today as Les Parry shores up his attacking options following the transfer of Terry Gornell to Accrington Stanley.

The Rovers manager spoke of his delight at tying up a deal for the 25-year-old, following a medical and a 'nominal' fee being agreed with club Coleraine.

He said: "Morrow is a classy striker who knows where the goal is.

"He has a good attitude, is keen to do well and will be a great addition to our squad."

It appears Morrow has been brought in as a straight replacement for Gornell, who left for League 2 Accrington on a free transfer on Friday.

But despite Parry's earlier assertion that former captain Thomas-Moore was now likely to stay at the club after handing in a transfer request, his absence at Dagenham on Saturday has fuelled speculation he may still leave.

Parry explained: “Ian trained on Thursday OK, didn’t say anything, and then on Friday he came in and said ‘my knee’s sore’ so we went and saw the doc and decided to rest it over the weekend.

And Parry, who confirmed Rotherham have increased their offer to £30,000, revealed he is now less confident of Thomas-Moore's position than he was last week.

He added: "I have been on record as saying it was 70/30 he was going to stay.

“I’m not too sure what the percentage is now.”
30000 doesnt seem like alot anymore because it was rumoured up to 100000 at one point. But the player doesn't want to play anymore and has backed the team into a corner.
