sometimes the pro gamers will land a factory at the same time as an infantry or reaper push as a way to get some helions in your mineral line...but i've never seen it do any serious damage.
I think (in the case of the pros) that it's more a case of the factory as 1) scouting tactic 2) useless building (when building a bio ball) and 3) hope and prayer (for potential dmg if not spotted)
