Doctor: Why I Removed Golf Pro's Suicide Note, Pills.....
The doctor arrested for removing LPGA pro Erica Blasberg's suicide note from her room said he knew it was "stupid" but that he did it to save her from any embarrassment.
In a court document, Dr. Thomas Hess details the days leading up to the 25-year-old's death, saying the two watched golf in her home and at a local casino. They also played golf at the Southern Highlands Golf Club on May 7, two days before he found her dead in her Henderson, Nev., home, with a suicide note left on the nightstand.
Hess was arrested on misdemeanor obstruction of justice charges for removing the note and prescription medication from Blasberg's home. He was released after posting bail.
"I know doing that was – was stupid, but I was trying to save some embarrassment for her," Hess told investigators, according to the court affidavit. Asked why he hid the items, Hess says, "I have no idea. I mean that. That whole thing was a fuzz for me."
