So after the draft on the weekend this is what I ended up with for players.
1 (1 ) Chris Johnson RB
2 (20) Rashard Mendenhall RB
3 (21) Calvin Johnson WR
4 (40) Antonio Gates TE
5 (41) Steve Smith WR
6 (60) Pierre Garcon WR
7 (61) Michael Crabtree WR
8 (80) Malcolm Floyd WR
9 (81) Jay Cutler QB
10 (100) Jerome Harrison RB
11 (101) Owen Daniels TE
12 (120) Kenny Britt WR
13 (121) Carnell Williams RB
14 (140) New York Giants D
15 (151) Jon Kasey K
I wasn't able to make my draft so I had to submit a list and this is what I ended up with.
I like the first 3 picks as I get two stud running backs who should get plenty of touches, and big play WR in Johnson in what I hope will be an improved Lions offence. Taking Gates at the end of round 4, may be a touch high, but with Vincent Jackson on the outs with the Chargers, it likely means more looks for him although teams will game plan more against him. Although by picking up Malcolm Floyd, and Owen Daniels as my backup TE I'm somewhat protected there as I can put Daniels in than start Floyd if he puts up big numbers.
I took Pierre Garcon way too early, thats a terrible pick by me. But getting Crabtree later on to go with Steve Smith should allow me to bench him anyways. Jay Cutler will likely make or break my team. If he plays to his potential in a pass happy Mike Martz offence and doesn't toss too many picks that could be a good sleeper. But it's risky, and I need to start targeting another QB just in case. Kenny Britt I think is a good late round pick as he has potential, and may come on if him and Vince Young develop some chemistry. Harrison and Williams give me a bit of depth at RB, although I may just drop Williams now and maybe try to get Hardesty so that either way I'll have one of the Browns Running backs as a backup.
Defence and Kicker...who cares too much about that, if the Giants underperform too much you can always pick up who ever is playing the Chiefs on the waiver wire.
