All the LEDs out are LCDs with LED backlighting. As someone said the ones with the best picture aren't the edge lit LEDs, although they are narrower but the full array gives the best picture.

The latest gizmo is 3D, so don't get left behind

and yes like all technology they will become cheaper the longer you wait but there does come a time to bite the bullet.
