CP is the oasis in the cesspool of internet message boards.
I have been a member of several forums over the years and CP is the only one that I have stuck with. So many forums are full of junk, immature postings, excessive swearing, threads full of chatting and a complete lack of depth. Obviously it's not perfect, but I think issues like this are pretty minor when compared to other forums.
Frankly I haven't noticed any hostility change. It seems like the same to me. My biggest complaint is when discussions start to get serious people wuss out. Instead of responding to people they cherry pick posts and treat the thread like a dumping ground of information for their side. It completely stifles debate.
