In our draft it went Rodgers, Brees, C. Johnson., Vernon Davis (scratches head), Frank Gore (49ers fan)..as the top five. The first 3 are solid picks...the other 2 not so much..not first round anyways.
I would agree there's only 3 or 4 first/second round QBs. But having one of those 4 is becoming more and more important. The rules are moving..or have moved to protecting the QB. So there's more passing and subsequently more passing TDs.
More and more teams are going to the Running Back by Committee model. It's harder to get that running back that carries the team..gets the lions share of the work. Peterson, MJD, Ray Rice, and Chris Johnson are sure bets but after that it can be hit or miss.
Because of some "off the board picks" earlier in the first round I was able to pick up Ray Rice with the 8th overall pick. I then selected Peyton Manning with my next pick (13th overall). Had our draft gone the way I thought it would I would've got maybe 1 of those 2 but not both!
I am no expert by any means but I tried to get a stud at the top 3 positions QB, RB, & WR. P. Manning, R. Rice, & R. White.
