He was a hater. He hated on players like the Sedins and Flames players alike (I'd love to see his current reaction to the Sedins since he always insisted they would never amount to anything.) During the dark times haters brought a certain balance to Flamesland. The Flames sucked. Hardcore fans tried to find positivity in certain things, perhaps blind optimism in others. When the Flames sucked and their prospects weren't that amazing, haters turned out to be right a shocking amount of time and could actually have been seen as realists or realistic.
These days Flames haters abound again because of the bitter disappointment of last season missing the playoffs. He'd fit right in!
