Does anyone feel as if they've raised in the last little while? I actually feel bad for some new posters that visit and post their thoughts (admittedly those thoughts are sometimes dated and kind of dumb at times), and then get piled on like a jar of peanut butter at a fat convention. Not just a one front attack, either, but sometimes full-on artillery bombardments followed by bayonet charges. I wonder if some of the newbies that stray onto CP aren't just brand new to internet message boards and aren't used to the high levels of anger and stroke-inducing rage that seem to fill the heads of some more veteran posters, including myself, at times.
Maybe we're all just a bunch of sour old internet posters? The shoe rant and the conservapedia thread have revealed to me the pure hatred that seems to seethe just below the surface of CP.
At the moment, I'd say hostility levels board-wide seem to be, on a scale of 1 to 10, around a 7, maybe even edging into an 8. It could be the long summer break and the frustrations over how Calgary ended their season, I'm not sure. Maybe Machiavelli can step into the thread and give us some advice on how to remain cool and avoid all major confrontations that pop up on here? I don't think I've ever seen her go rageroid.
I'm going to end this post with a nice tranquil tropical beach where all CP members can go, sit, sip coconut water, and relax. Serenity now, serenity now:
