I don't think anyone said "epic and utter fail" but Erick was simply pointing out, and rightfully so, that in the past decade, Favre has taken his team far, but ultimately costs his team the game with a (or several) untimely INTs.
Now, would those teams have gotten that far without Favre? Likely not. But at the end of the day, Favre's track record for big game success has been tarnished to those that actually look past the media's love affair with his "gunslinger" approach to the game and regular season heroics.
No doubt Minnesota is in a better position with Favre than without him, but it's been 3 years straight that Favre has played like a dog to end the season.
