I looked at the tires on my buddy's jeep. He's had them for on for 25,000 kms and they seem to be wearing ok. I suspect the wear probably depends on which tire you have on which vehicle. A jeep is a lot lighter than a truck.... thus less wear.
But yes I do expect more wear than a non-winter rated tire.... but then my tires won't turn into hockey pucks when the temperature drops below zero. One of the trade-offs I'm willing to make, for peace of mind when my wife is driving the jeep and she runs into a snow storm or icy roads.... and this can happen anytime between October to June.... here in Alberta with our freakish weather.
Anyways, I put an order in for the tires with Fountain Tire. Got them to drop the price from $298 per tire down to $276 per tire plus I get a 10% Goodyear factory rebate which further drops the price to $248 per tire. Not a great price but its better than the original $298, which was ridiculous.
