I have played a few games. So far, I love the feel of hitting in the game. It's not just the big jaw-dropping hits, but even just the ones where a guy gets stapled to the boards- the physicality is awesome!
The new faceoff system is neat, but I am having difficulties figuring out how getting my player to switch hands affects him. Tying a guy up is usually what has worked for me, though.
I have had some crazy (nearly impossible) goals by the CPU so far. One where a pass goes back to the blueline, bounces off a defender's skate into the air, and a forward bats it in with his back to the play! (disallowed on a high stick, but it's nuts anyway!)
Also, in my HUT game, the puck went off a skate and just floated into the net so slowly. It was like a pop fly in baseball, and Kipper missed it.
In terms of goalies, rebounds are more varied with the new puck physics. Very cool!
I like the possibilities in HUT, but my sample pack has no NHL centers. Not great for chemistry! I love tweaking things, and I cannot wait to play in that game mode!
Overall, I think with a little tweaking for the finished game, NHL 11 will be very satisfying!
