Hmmm. where to start...
How about ariza and hedo. Well the only thing we didn't get for the deal that Ariza acquired was cheap young talent, as you say moon. However, Barbosa is a nice piece to acquire for Hedo. LB is a speed demon on the perimeter, something that Jose will never be.
I also don't think that Hedo sabotaged anything other than his own rep. He just wasn't a good fit in the offense. He is effective with the ball in his hands, but JT charged that to Jack and Jose. I wonder how hedo will do with Nash dominating the ball such as he does.
As far as BC is concerned; I think his selections of Marion, Barbosa,DeRo, ED and Stoudemire highlight his penchant for the athletic selection. I think it's shrewd, the strategy he employs, by selecting the best athlete. I think both of his latter two selections, he could have went with the better productive players but went athletic. To me that's shrewd.
And ED doesn't get top 3 consideration last year after a bad skill set. He injured himself and didn't recover in time to show off his offensive game. You will be surprised. Plus, the young players like Sonny and Amir were pretty good moves. Your disdain aside, it isn't as you say moon, again.
As far as his veteran acquisitions, I am in accord. I think he has done a poor job of outfitting this team with suitable veteran talent. I think the Barbosa move will salvage some of his rep, provided he plays well: 70 gp, 15ppg.
I didn't really say that BC was a good architect, but rather a good prep talent evaluator. I think a rebuilding squad suits his skillset. I want us to tank this year, so I am fine with the state of this team and their underwhelming management. I miss Glen Grunwald.
