They do this with every 'new' feature. We had board play in 2003 or 2004, we had cards back then too, we had speed boost.
And the year they took out create-a-player, sure enough it was a 'new' feature the next year.
With no competition this is a guaranteed buy on launch day. Unfortunately the EA team knows this.
