Must be me, but I think if they are going through all this trouble, they should've gone to 5 car-minimum stations already. You just know that pretty soon that they will reach capacity with 4 as well and it would've been smart to be a bit ahead of the game (although I know that's not Calgary's style when it comes to infrastructure!).

It's not like 5 is that crazy, quite a few subway networks out there are around 10.

I think you'd have a pretty hard time fitting a 5 car train between lights on 7th Ave, so that's probably why they're not going that far.
