Bull.
Gerrard's had tons of nagging injuries throughout his career, look at the last two seasons for more proof, he'll miss a Europa game and play a League game a few days later. It happens if the injuries are small or if you're just playing too many damn games.
Either way, this whole sports business is a 'what have you done for me lately' enterprise. Face it, Rooney has been sandbagging it for England, you can tell because he mouthed off the fans in South Africa and then yesterday when he gets subbed off:
