I agree. I don't ever really plan on having kids so I consider myself lucky in respect to the fact that I can work a little less and still retain more income and free time than people who do have kids.

Yep, my girlfriend's parents are like that with her. They're very well off but she has to earn everything. The only thing about it that pisses me off is that they've been giving her brother a free ride the entire time.
I'm 23 right now and have been working and living on my own pretty much since I graduated high school, so I've never really had enough money to go to school. I have a couple of uni courses under my belt but I'm finally taking the full-time plunge this year. My dad has said he'll lend me some money for school but that I'm responsible for my living expenses (we live in different cities)and any extra costs (i.e. medical, entertainment, etc.).
